Koch companies are committed to providing a safe work environment by training and empowering all employees to prevent incidents. At most locations, employee committees set goals and policies for improving safety.

In February, Georgia-Pacific employees at the Green Bay Broadway site celebrated operating more than 1.25 million work hours without a lost-time injury. In recognition of this achievement, Georgia-Pacific Chief Executive Officer and President Jim Hannan presented employees with their sixth CEO Safety Excellence Award.

Safety extends beyond the workplace for Koch Pipeline Company employees in Corpus Christi, Texas, who participated in the 811 "Call Before You Dig" campaign in 2012.
