Executive Vice President

David H. Koch is an executive vice president and a board member of Koch Industries, Inc., which owns a diverse group of companies in refining, chemicals and biofuels; forest and consumer products; fertilizers; polymers and fibers; process and pollution control equipment and technologies; commodity trading and services; minerals; ranching; and investments. Based in Wichita, Kan., with annual revenues of about $115 billion, Koch Industries has about 60,000 employees and a presence in nearly 60 countries. Since 2003, Koch companies have invested about $50 billion in acquisitions and other capital expenditures. Familiar Koch companies’ brands include STAINMASTER^® carpet, LYCRA^® fiber, Quilted Northern^® tissue, and the Dixie^® brand of tabletop products.

Mr. Koch, who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, also serves as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Koch Chemical Technology Group, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries.

Koch Chemical Technology Group serves municipalities, oil refineries and chemical plants around the globe with research and development, manufacturing and sales of process and pollution control equipment. This group employs about 5,000 people and includes these businesses:

• Koch-Glitsch, LP (Wichita, Kan.)
• Koch Membrane Systems, Inc. (Wilmington, Mass.)
• Koch Heat Transfer Company, LP (Houston)
• John Zink Company (Tulsa, Okla.)
• Optimized Process Designs, Inc. (Houston)

Before joining Koch Industries in 1970, Mr. Koch was a research and process design engineer for Amicon Corporation and Arthur D. Little, Inc., both in Cambridge, Mass.; and Halcon International, Inc. and its affiliate, the Scientific Design Company, in New York City.

A long-time philanthropist, Mr. Koch has given generously to a variety of organizations and programs. In his lifetime, he and the David H. Koch Charitable Foundation have pledged or contributed nearly $1 billion to cancer research, medical centers, educational institutions, arts and cultural institutions, and to assist public policy organizations. Gifts of note include:

• $100 million to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital to help build the David H. Koch Center, a new ambulatory care center.
• $10 million to Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at The Mount Sinai Medical Center to create the David H. and Julia Koch Research Program in Food Allergy Therapeutics.
• $185 million in total contributions to MIT, including $100 million as prime contributor for the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, and contributions that supported the Koch Biology Building and the David H. Koch School of Chemical Engineering Practice.
• $20 million to Johns Hopkins University for the David H. Koch Cancer Research Center.
• $65 million to renovate the plaza at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York City.
• $100 million to the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center, now the David H. Koch Theater.
• $25 million to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for the David H. Koch Center for Applied Research of Genitourinary Cancers.
• $35 million to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History to renovate the dinosaur hall and $15 million that created the David H. Koch Hall of Human Origins.
• $20 million to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City establishing the David H. Koch Dinosaur Wing.

Mr. Koch serves on the boards of the Cato Institute, the Reason Foundation, and Americans for Prosperity Foundation, organizations focused on applying free market principles to enhance peace, prosperity and social progress.
